Scholarship Criteria and Guidelines

Purpose: The Larry C. Ballard Scholarship Foundation is designed to encourage and support college-bound students who demonstrate academic achievement and a focused pursuit in an area outside of the general course of study. Our scholarships provide financial assistance and an on-going dedication to supporting students throughout their 4 year undergraduate journey.

Criteria: Students eligible for assistance must be graduating high school seniors who reside in Iowa and intend to continue their education at a four year college or university on a full-time basis. Consideration will be given to academic achievement, financial need, and the student’s focused pursuit and long term dedication in an area outside of the general course of study.

Guidelines: Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis and disbursed in equal payments at the beginning of each semester. Students must continue to attend classes and maintain no less than a 3.75 GPA (or equivalent).

Amount: Each scholarship awarded will be a maximum of $15,000 annually for a maximum of four years.

Deadline: April 1st, 2024.

Renewal Process: This scholarship will renew each year automatically as long as guidelines are met.
